Through persistent lobbying and huge political contributions, nurse practitioners are being granted the right to treat patients with no physician involved.
Physician assistants are lobbying for the right to call themselves “Physician Associates”.
Healthcare workers with nowhere near the necessary training and certification are being represented as “doctors” in hospitals, emergency rooms, clinics and urgent care centers.
Corporate interests are accelerating this change. They want to spend less and increase profits. Quality of care for patients is an afterthought.
Most patients don’t know they’re being treated by a non-physician. Because physicians’ voices have been silenced.
WHAT WE’RE DOING ABOUT THE PROBLEM
Physicians are taking action now. We are mobilizing across the country to educate the public about healthcare practitioner credentials.
Patients deserve to know who’s treating them. Patients need to know there’s a difference in a physician’s training compared that of a nurse practitioner or PA. Most of all, patients deserve physician-led medical care.
This is what we’re fighting for. Here’s how we’re going to win.
We are recruiting a grassroots organization of tens of thousands of physicians who are standing up for physician-led care.
We are raising funds to communicate across the country about the dangers of non-physician medical practice and to help patients understand who is treating them. Your contribution goes right to work protecting physician-led care for you and your family, your community, and the whole country.
We believe in authentic grassroots action. We are a movement of Physicians for Patient Protection. That’s why we are asking all physician supporters to vote on the best ways to advance the cause of putting patients first. After you join, you’ll vote (anonymously) on which strategy you’d like to see in action:
Patient Awareness Campaign
A marketing effort aimed at healthcare consumers across the country, empowering them to ask for the credentials of the person treating them, and educating patients about non-physician practitioner risks.
A marketing campaign aimed at state and federal legislators and healthcare policymakers asking them to support regulations and laws that protect physician-led care.
Thank a Resident
A program of outreach to residents nationwide showing thanks for their rigorous training and encouraging their involvement in the physician-led care movement.
A program to place high-visibility outdoor advertising in targeted communities around the country alerting patients to ask for the credentials of the person treating them.
Thank you for putting patients first. Will you join over 12,000 physicians who have already joined the cause? Now is the time, and this is the place. Remember, we protect the confidentiality and privacy of all PPP supporters.
