WHAT’S THE PROBLEM?

A perfect storm is brewing, making it harder for patients to find a physician.

NPs and PAs are lobbying for independent practice through legislation, rather than education.

Corporations are happy to replace physicians with NPs and PAs, as they can pay lower salaries, but charge patients the same.

They want to spend less and increase profits. Quality of care for patients is an afterthought.

In the midst of this, titles are being blurred–corporations call everyone a “provider”, and patients don’t always know who is treating them, let alone their level of expertise.
